New Hampshire Youth Summit on Opioid Awareness

Youth Summit on Opioid Awareness

8,500 elementary, middle and high school students walked into the Southern New Hampshire University Arena prepared to hear about the region's deadly heroin epidemic.

When they left three hours later, they were warriors in the fight against the region's opioid epidemic.

During the Youth Summit on Opioid Awareness, notable pro athletes, legislators and entertainers spoke of how the younger generation must play a key role in ending widespread addiction. Many were shocked at the numbers, mentioning that 120 people die of overdoses nationwide every day. Speakers included United States Attorney General Jeff Sessions, Governor Chris Sununu, Jeff Allison, Eliza Dushku, Patrick Chung, DEA agent Jon Delena, Manchester Mayor Ted Gatsas and more.

The NH Youth Summit on Opioid Awareness was created by the Mark Wahlberg Youth Foundation and our partners to educate children who are inundated with news of addiction and personal loss in their communities.
